Korry Electronics, a subsidiary of Esterline, is the internationally recognized leader in the design and manufacture of electro-optical display products, subsystems and discrete components for the aerospace and defense industries. We are a cutting-edge, industry pacesetter in many technologies (such as Night Vision and LED) that drive advances in critical applications for man-machine interfaces.
We currently have an opening for a Project Engineer. This individual will be required to provide technical leadership for the entire life cycle of aerospace and defense display systems with particular emphasis on design and development. The Project Engineer is a guardian of integrity in the design process conducted in accordance with company and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
* Understands the requirements for display systems in aerospace and defense applications * Writes and maintains verifiable requirements for systems and lower levels * Adheres to strict development process standards * Analyzes design inputs, conduct trade-off analyses and make design choices * Writes technical documents * Delivers a product that meets the requirements, within budget and on time * Focus on customer and product
Qualifications:
* BSEE preferred, BSME or in physics/optics acceptable * Minimum 7 years of experience * Proven record of technical leadership in development of avionics products * Preferably have a proven record of technical leadership in developing two avionics products from concept through requirements capture, implementation, qualification and on to production * Proven knowledge and a record designing to industrial environmental standards RTCA/DO-160 and/or MIL-STD-810 * Proven knowledge of design processes for certification to RTCA/DO-178 and/or RTCA/DO-254 standards * Working knowledge of design standards for display systems in safety critical applications * Solid background in electronics design including power electronics * Experience in development of embedded avionics systems * Working knowledge of avionics interfaces, display interfaces and system bus technologies * Working knowledge of design factors for human machine interface * Exposure to analysis of all aspects of avionics display design including optical, mechanical, hardware, video processing, software, analog and digital electronics * Highly detail oriented but creative * Independent, highly motivated, and self-directed with the ability to take direction * Good communications skills * Strong team builder and player, * Proficiency in requirements capture software * MSOffice proficiency, in particular MSWord and MSExcel
